The unit is responsible for the prevention and detection of TIP cases. It shall also be responsible for establishing measures for the prevention and mitigation of trafficking in persons.

The unit shall perform the following specific functions:

1. Establish measures and guidelines for the prevention and mitigation of trafficking in persons;
2. Conduct Sensitization programmes in order to create awareness on trafficking in persons; and
3. Provide technical support to law enforcement agencies in order to enhance their capacity to respond to TIP related cases.
