The unit is responsible for investigating cases relating to trafficking in persons.

The unit shall perform the following specific functions:

1. Develop tools for the investigation of trafficking in persons cases;
2. Facilitate the investigation, arrest and prosecution of cases relating to trafficking in persons;
3. Provide technical support to law enforcement agencies in order to enhance their capacity to respond to TIP related cases;
4. Liaise with other investigative institutions on TIP related cases;
5. Conduct surveillance in order to gather information relating to TIP cases; and
6. Conduct inspections in order to ensure compliance to set standards.
